EDIT #2: Holy crap!!! A DD!! Thank you so much! This totally just made my day. I am very highly honoured

EDIT: just resubmiting this because I wanted to show off the front as well.

I finally got some real photos taken of these!!! I'm sorry, they are just boring ones without models on a white background, but they show off the costume well.

This is the back of my Forest Guardian costume.

Hand felted/dyed wool over cheesecloth with moss and leaves.
It took over 20 hours of very hard and wet work.

And no, its not a dress, its a vest/robe for a man.

Wow, I love the detail on that... so was the cheesecloth layed over the top of that, or in pieces?

it was just laid out almost as a lining on the inside. it was orginally in three long pieces because the whole thing started out so wide, but as the wool shrunk it fused the cheesecloth together. if that answers your question at all :P
Hehe, sweet! ^____^
that's beautiful ... it has a very organic feeling about it
I really like the new picture, it shows off the awesomeness even better! The leaves and moss were dry or wet felted into the vest?

The whole thing was wet felted, including the leaves and moss. It's a technique I really want to use again :)
Very nice effect! It looks lovely!
