Yeah, totally sucks! Not so much for me personally, but I know a lot of other people are coming from afar and have already booked plain tickets and such, or they are heading off elsewhere to school and wouldn't be able to attend if it's later then the end of August.

Not to mention all the vendors and guests!
I do not blame the EA staff, so please don't go complaining to them. They just found out today as well. Apparently Simon Fraser University made a scheduling conflict. WTF SFU!! I mean how many years has AE been at this venue? You would think they would at least give more then a month notice.

This is totally going to f*ck with the attendance whenever it does happen.

*sigh*

Anyway, it was rather a shocker to hear about today. I was at a cosplay shoot and everything :(

I'm completely disappointed. I was really looking forward to this, for a LOT of reasons, and now my schedule has gone completely to hell.

Ug. yeah, i heard too. I'm glad to hear that it's SFU's screw up though. A lot of people on the forum were getting pissed at AE, which isn't fair.
Really, really bummed about it though. WTF, SFU, indeed.... *sighmutter*

How did the OhSNAP shoot go? I checked it out after you stopped by, but I had to work today. :/ I would have totally come.

yah I was pretty pissed when I found out. We have to come from the Okanagan which isn't far, but we both booked a lot of time off and made arrangements with family and friends and hotels etc. Gr!

Well, hopefully they'll be able to move it to a new weekend that isn't going to interfere to terribly with schools. If that's the case, then I might actually be able to make it up instead. ^^

Im so dissapointed! I agree with you. How could SFU do that to them? It's such a big event. A months notice is ridiculous. And I was so excited to go this year again T_T
Any later than the end of august makes it difficult for people to go because of school starting up again.
I feel sorry for the people organizing AE. And I hope that they can figure this out soon XP

I just hope that the board can find a better place to host the con than SFU. It almost seems like it would be a good idea just to cut the ties. As immature as it sounds, it's almost as if SFU disregarded the fact that the convention prebooked in advance, because of the bad reviews and whatnot the congoers were given last year after trashing the campus.

I'm not overly disappointed, as due to some financial issues, I wasn't able to attend this year. But still, I feel for the people who are disappointed, and I agree - they shouldn't be getting angry at the AE staff. They definitely would've avoided such a letdown if it were possible.

Why do people say their heart is broken when someone hurts them? They are still fully capable of loving that someone, and often love them for ages afterwards. It's the other heart that stops loving, that's the one that needs fixing.

You aren't the only one a lil disappointed...as I'm one of the Guest Artists that was going!;__;

But! I'm actually kind of happy that it's postponed to a later date as it frees up more time for me in August, especially with all the cons I'm already scheduled to be at during that month ^^;


that...and I'm a fan of Fall/Spring cons...MUCH more comfy weather...but then again I live in Massachusetts and HATE icky humid hot summer weather we get more times than not Xp

Yeah, totally sucks. At first I thought it was some kind of bad joke. Grrrr

But the shoot went well. I didn't really know many people there, aside from the OhSNAP girls, but they were busy taking pictures. So I ended up just hanging out with ~ChasseNeige who didn't really know anyone either. We had good time. Poor girl was sweltering in her Kadaj though, and I got sunburnt :P
