Thank you so so much to all the people who offered donations for the fundraiser for her, but unfortunately, they will no longer be necessary.
She had too much brain damage, and even though she would have lived, she would never be the same cat, and would have been confined to the house, and probably not walk again. And that is no way for a cat to live, especially a cat who loved to be outside so much, and go for walks in the forest with us and her brother.
So my mom and I made the very hard decision to put her to sleep this afternoon. She was with her family and went peacefully.
She had a really wonderful life though. She spent much of her time outside in the forest, or in the barn hunting, but she would always come home when she wanted love and attention. She was very affectionate and sociable, even though she was skittish around lots of people. She and her brother Cecil would follow us on small hikes, and whenever we were outside gardening or just sitting on the grass they would be there, just delighting in our company. She would also sleep on my pillow at night when it suited her, or at the foot of the bed. She would jump on my laptop when I wasn't paying enough attention to her. She had the cutest little chirp to let you know she was in the room, and then she would rub her face on my hands and bite my fingers. They were love bites of course, but boy did they hurt sometimes.
She was a wonderful cat who even won the heart of my self-proclaimed-cat-hating step-father. She will be very sorely missed. Especially by her brother Cecil, who even though beat her up on occasion like big brothers do, cuddled up beside her, licked her and loved her whenever he got the chance.
We will miss you Little Thing

I think I have to go cuddle my cat now, whether she likes it or not. I got a little teary eyed reading this...

Cause every night I will make it right, and every night I will come to you. But every night it just stays the same, in my dream of an absolution.

Imagination rules the world.

Who knows where inspiration comes from. Perhaps it arises from desperation. Perhaps it comes from the flukes of the universe, the kindness of the muses.
